New Workshop Series this Winter!
Dec 28, 2023Happy New Year Shape Shifters. When I think of the year to come what really inspires me is this space and the type of learning we do here. Some of my main intentions and goals for this year are experiences I wan’t to have here, as a teacher and as a student. I am really looking forward to just nerding out about yoga and how to support yourself in not only living from a place of embodied safety, but embodied magick. Your body is a wand. Let’s live into that.
We are kicking off the year with a 7 week workshop class series on Trauma Informed Yoga. These classes will take place on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:15pm PST. Each 90 minute class will start with a 30 minute lecture and discussion on how we can apply yoga as a therapeutic modality to regulate the nervous system followed by a 45 minute applied yoga practice. The style of asana will be a gentle and (very slow) slow flow version of the vinyasa you are used to from me.
I will be teaching you Poly Vagal Theory (aka how your nervous system works), what trauma is through a somatic lens, and the practices I have learned as a student of Yoga and practitioner of Somatic Experiencing for trauma resolution and nervous system regulation. As fancy as all that language sounds, this is meant to be an informative, grounding and digestible experience that leaves you feeling more connected and more empowered in your body experiences.
This class series is a part of our membership and the classes will go in a sequential order. If you are not currently a member you can sign up just to do this workshop series and then cancel after unless of course you want to keep practicing with us. I offer sliding scale.
Reach out with any questions! See you on the mat.
